Creation Class – Cat Flaherty will be starting her next Art session on Wednesday, February 15th after school. Creation Class is where 2nd – 8th grade students can express themselves through different types of media such as painting, collage, pastels and more! The inspiration for this class is Genesis 1 when God “created”! Classes will begin after school on Wednesday, February 15th. Students must be picked up at 4:30pm. Each class is $15. Payment is due at the beginning of each class. The schedule for lessons is as follows: Watercolor Magic from February through March and Mixed Media from April through May. The first class is free if you bring all necessary supplies (to be announced soon)!

This Friday, February 3rd is the last dress down day for those who purchased Dress Down Day’s. There will be a chance to get more DDD’s when Race for Education labels are sent home…more details to come.

Last Chance to order a yearbook! – If you didn’t order a yearbook at the beginning of the year and you still want to, now is your chance! I am attaching a copy of the last yearbook order form. The order and payment of $25 must be in to the school office by Friday, February 17th. No late orders will be taken!

Teens for Jeans – 1 in 3 homeless people in the U.S. is under the age of 18, and one of the first items they ask for when reaching a shelter is jeans. You can do something about teen homeless. From January 16 to February 12, we are collecting jeans for homeless teens. There is a box in the school lobby for you to put your jeans. There are also coupons for 25% off your next pair of jeans at Aeropostale when you donate a pair of jeans to the box. The school that collects the most jeans wins $5,000, new Aeropostale jeans for EVERY student and a party!

Intramural Basketball Parents – We have been experiencing problems with unsupervised children playing in the halls, cafe’ and gym closet during Saturday games and weekday practices. This past week, during the intramural games on Saturday and during the intramural practices this week, we had student artwork pulled off the wall, children were observed jumping on the cafe’ furniture and throwing balls in the hallway and cafe and a child threw up in the gym closet. Please understand that children must be supervised at all times and are not to be left free to roam the halls or play in the cafe. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Caught Being Good This Week: Salvador Alarcon, Olivia Austin, Myranda Beebe, Elizabeth Biller, Grace Bucklin, Mike Christopher, Zoe Coggle, Connor Coulbourne, Jeffrey Hertzog, Paige Horn, Sean Justice, Carrie Krause (2X), Julie Moore, Megan Moore, Paul Moore, Colby Morris, Ella Ruppert, Jake Smith, Emily Stark, Kevin Stewart, Emily Uffelman and Noah Windsor.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION DUE!! – Parents, we want to thank you for everyone that has donated their Box Tops for Education to our school. So far this year we have made a little over $300 turning in the box tops. We are a little behind where we were last year so we are trying to make it fun by attaching some collection sheets for the kids to fill in. Each collection sheet has 10 spaces on it. The kids can tape or glue their box tops on these sheets and then color them and turn them into the school office. All box tops are due by February 25th.

BIBLE TIME

A kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while theywere drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child’s work.As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what thedrawing was.The girl replied, “I’m drawing God.” The teacher paused and said, “But no one knows what God looks like. “Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, “They will in a minute.”
